The Basket

   Life is a journey. There is a main road that goes straight down the middle and then there are the side roads...those crooked and interesting little paths less traveled. I am amazed when I stop to look back at how all those paths connected and have lead me to the place where I am. I believe God sends certain people into my life at specific times to teach me something, make it better, or connect with me in some way. If I stayed on the main road, then I might miss those encounters. A friend of mine once told me that we carry a basket on our journey. Some people stay in our basket, but others are just there for a little while. At times my basket gets loaded down with more than I can carry. I am still learning how to navigate my way through life carrying my basket.
